Disappointing products #6: Sleek Glitter Dip It eyeliner in Gem

Hello! I feel like I'm in the mood to talk about all the beauty products I really didn't like and well it's time for another one! Today I'll talk about Sleek Glitter eyeliner in shade 273 Gem. Another product I just didn't get along with and I have no idea how so many say it's pretty good and gives a nice effect etc.. to me this was just a tiny disaster.

Starting with packaging , as always.  I imagined this product to be larger but it's really a tiny little bottle with a thin holder and normal sized thin brush. Packaging is plastic and offers 5.5 ml of product. The price is about 5 euros usually, on their official site you can get it for 5.50 euros.  I bought it at Click2chic online store and I think it was with a discount as right now the regular price is 6,95 euros.

Product descriptionThis long lasting liquid eyeliner with glittering flecks will bring instant glamour to your look, the light texture glides on easily for a high-impact finish.

Ingredients: Aqua, Betaine, Butylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, PVP, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Tetrasodium E.D.T.A, Alcohol Denature, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Butylparaben. Suitable for vegetarians. Suitable for vegans.

How to use: Apply using the brush applicator provided directly to the top lash line, carefully building up as you go, wipe off excess before applying to the eye.

Why this didn't work for me? Let's start with the problems I had with the application. The brush applicator is ok and easy to work with, I didn't have any problems with excess product or getting it all over my eyelids or anything like that, not with the first application at least, but when layering is another story. The problem was more in the formula and how hard it was to get this product applied evenly and in a nice line. It looked really promising online and reviews I have read seemed ok, so I decided to give it a try. Maybe mine was some old product they found in storage somewhere or maybe I just had some bad luck, but my product was a pain to work with. Once I opened it it felt a bit dry and I was already wondering how I will get this to an even and full line. Than I started applying this with the brush provided and all I was able to achieve was a thick line with very few glitters that stuck to my eyelids. And when I tried to make it look more even the glitter already on my eyes would either fall off or glue itself back to the brush and I would be dragging the product all over my eyelids and making  a mess. Also as hard as I tried to make a thin line, with this brush I always ended up with quite a fat one, no idea why, so I thought I will just change the brush I'm using and it will be fine. Well it was never ok, even after I started using another brush as the product still wouldn't get into an even and full covered line. I must say I was really dissapointed as I really liked this and thought it would be a great change to my eye makeup looks. I am not a big fan of glittery products but every now and than I feel like this could work for me and maybe add some more glam, but oh well.. not this time. I expected and wanted a more solid opaque line and I was never really able to achieve that.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me and I will probably stay away from glittery eye liners for a while as I believe there are easier ways to get a glitter eyeliner look and well, I won't be spending money on this line of products any time soon.

Hope this was helpful to you! Thanks for reading!

Love, UniqaPoly
